Escalator Engineer

Designation of post: Escalator engineer with EAL Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installation & Commissioning (Escalator Installation and Commissioning).

Starting salary: £30,680 plus:

Over 8Hrs + travel time – 1.5 x hourly rate

Saturday working – 1.5 hourly rate

Sunday working – 2 x hourly rate

(No travel time at weekends, only start to finish rates)

Monthly bonus – £100

Weekend working bonus – £30

Away work bonus – £25


We are currently seeking an experienced Escalator Engineer to join our Escalator Installation and Build Team, covering underground stations, shops, retail shopping centres and stadiums.

The position available is for staff engineer level and will be working as a supervisor on-site and have management responsibilities. Must hold an NVQ Level 3 in Escalator Installations.

As a qualified engineer, you will be required to carry out 100% of the building up of the units with your own team and assist the tester along with the installation of the escalator.

Experience/Education key E = Essential

D= Desirable

GCSE level of education – E

NVQ L3 in Escalator Installation – E

General labouring – D

Full, clean driving license – E

Experience in driving 7 1/2 tonne lorries – D

Ability to work at heights – E

Knowledge of lifting equipment – D


Self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible and pleasant attitude – E
